Cardiologists Serving The 75115 And 76063 Areas!

Visiting your cardiologist on a regular basis is key to a healthy life. Whether you have a chronic heart disease or are just coming in for a checkup, we want to make sure you have all the facts you need to make an educated decision about your health.

Services we offer include:

EKG (Electrocardiogram)

EKG is a simple office test that uses electrodes to record the electrical activity of heart. It is a part of routine cardiac evaluation. EKG can be used for diagnosis of heart rhythm disturbances, heart attack and multiple other cardiac conditions

Exercise (Treadmill) Stress Test

This test is used to diagnose blockages of heart arteries. During this test, patient is exercised on treadmill with continuous monitoring of EKG, heart rate and BP.

Echocardiogram (TTE)

Echocardiogram (TTE) is an ultrasound examination of the heart, performed with a transducer placed on different locations of the chest wall. This test requires 30-60 minutes and is performed in the office. This test provides information about the size and function of various heart chambers, valves, ejection fraction (contractile function), pericardium (lining of the heart)

Stress Echocardiogram

In this test Echocardiogram of heart is performed before exercise, and immediately after the exercise stress test. This test is used to diagnose blockages of heart arteries.

Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)

Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) is an ultrasound examination of the heart performed via a transducer that is positioned on an endoscope (long, thin flexible instrument). The endoscope is guided down the throat into your esophagus (food pipe).

As the esophagus lies immediately behind the heart, clear images of the heart and its valves can be obtained without the interference of the ribs or lungs. TEE provides better visualization of the heart valves.  This test requires 30-60 minutes and is performed in the hospital, and involves sedation.

Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (Nuclear Stress Test)

This is a test for diagnosis of coronary artery disease (heart artery blockages), heart pumping function and damaged heart tissue.

In this procedure, a radioactive tracer is injected into the bloodstream and the heart function is analyzed by the doctor using a scanner called a SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) camera.
The MPI procedure involves two sets of images by the SPECT camera: one with the patient at rest and other under stress that induces the heart to work harder. There are two ways to induce stress on the heart:

  • Exercising on a treadmill is the usual way of inducing stress on the heart.
  • Drug-induced stress, generally used for the physically disabled patients. The drugs employed are adenosine, regadenoson, and dobutamine.

This test is performed in our office, and requires 2-3 hours.

Cardiac Catheterization

In this test dye is injected in the arteries of the heart to look for blockages. During this test pressures are also measured from various heart chambers to help guide further targeted treatment. This test is performed in a cardiac catheterization lab.

Angioplasty/Stent

This procedure is performed in conjunction with cardiac catheterization, for treatment of severe blockages in the heart arteries. Angioplasty involves temporarily inserting and inflating a tiny balloon where your artery is clogged to help widen the artery.

Angioplasty is often combined with the permanent placement of a small wire mesh tube called a stent to help prop the artery open and decrease its chance of narrowing again. Some stents are coated with medication to help keep your artery open (drug-eluting stents), while others are not (bare-metal stents).

Peripheral Arterial Disease Diagnostic Tests

  • Ankle-brachial index – Ankle-brachial index (ABI) compares blood pressure of your ankle to blood pressure in the arm.
  • ARTERIAL DUPLEX – This test uses ultrasound to check for a blocked artery in extremities. It helps in determining the location and severity of leg blockages.

Peripheral Endovascular Treatment

This procedure involves first performing angiograms to diagnose blockages in arteries of legs. After that advanced minimally invasive techniques that combine atherectomy (plaque removal), thrombectomy (clot removal), balloon angioplasty and stent, are used to treat blockages and restore blood flow.

Carotid Ultrasound

This test uses ultrasound to diagnose blockages in neck arteries (Carotid artery disease). Carotid artery disease can cause strokes

Carotid Angiogram / Carotid Stent

In this test dye is injected in the arteries of the neck for diagnosis of neck blockages. The blockages can then be treated with placement of a stent in the neck artery.

Holter Monitor

Holter monitor is a small portable device that provides continuous monitoring of heart’s electrical activity. EKG leads are placed on the chest and connected to a small device. The device is worn for 24-48 hours. Holter monitor is used for diagnosis of heart arrhythmias.

Heart Disease Treatment

The goal of treating heart disease is to maximize the patient's quality and quantity of life. Treatment of heart disease may include medicines, lifestyle changes, medical and surgical procedures, and cardiac rehabilitation. Your doctor also may prescribe medicines to treat the disease.

Event Monitor

It uses a battery-operated portable device that is similar to a HolteThe goal of treating heart disease is to maximize the patient's quality and quantity of life. Implantable Loop Recorder

Wireless and small insertable cardiac monitor ideal for patients experiencing infrequent symptoms that require long-term monitoring or ongoing management. This monitor is injected in chest wall area via a tiny incision.

Pacemaker

Implantable device placed under the skin in chest to provide extra beats for patients with slow heart rates.

Defibrillator (AICD)

Implantable device placed under the skin in chest. AICD is used for patients with very weak heart function. AICD delivers extra beats or shock to stop serious heart arrhythmias.

Tilt Table Test

A tilt table test is used to evaluate the cause of unexplained fainting (syncope). For a tilt table test, you begin by lying flat on a table. Straps are put around your body to hold you in place. After about 15 minutes of lying flat, the table is quickly tilted to raise your body to a head-up position — simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up.

The table will then remain upright for up to 45 minutes, while your heart rate and blood pressure are monitored

Venous Duplex

Ultrasound is use to diagnose blood clots in veins of lower extremities

Vascular Care

Vascular care can prevent the instance of strokes and heart attacks in patients with cardiovascular issues. It is also important if you’re concerned with the appearance of varicose veins.

Chronic Venous Insufficiency (Varicose Veins) Treatment

The Venefit procedure uses radiofrequency energy to precisely and effectively treat patients suffering from Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). Patients have less pain and bruising than alternative treatments.
